Lead B2B Full-Stack Engineer
Location: Berlin (Hybrid, 3+ days onsite)
Role Type: Technical Leadership
About addressable value
We are passionate about great software and driven to scale its impact to as many customers as possible. With decades of experience in building and advising B2B startups, we identified that the key differentiator lies in the ability to understand, measure, and communicate the customer value proposition.
Now, we are codifying our deep domain expertise into a powerful, AI-native SaaS product. We are building an end-to-end data platform that integrates into the complex landscapes of go-to-market solutions, powering AI assistants and agents that autonomously improve our users' workflows.
We believe great products are built by diverse, inclusive teams that have fun solving problems together. That is why we are committed to a local, collaborative culture where we work side-by-side in our Berlin office a few days a week to spark ideas and build something impactful.
Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and driven Lead Engineer for our new AI-enabled SaaS product. This is a rare early-phase opportunity to architect, build and own many areas of our data platform.
We are looking for a product-minded engineer who loves shipping features that solve real customer problems. You will work closely with our team to translate customer needs into working software - rapidly prototyping, experimenting and iterating. You will act as the primary builder, while coordinating a team of working students and external specialized experts, including UI designers.
This role is for someone who is equally comfortable crafting a polished React interface, designing a robust API and wiring up backend services - all while leveraging AI tools to move at startup speed. If you thrive on building end-to-end, working close to customers and pushing the boundaries of AI-assisted development, this role is for you.
What you will be doing
As the Lead B2B Full-Stack Engineer, you will be the primary technical owner across the product. Key responsibilities include:
1. Full-Stack Feature Development
Own the end-to-end development of product features — from frontend UI through API design to backend logic and data layer.
Build polished, responsive user interfaces in React/TypeScript that make complex B2B workflows feel intuitive.
Design and implement backend services and APIs that power the product reliably and at scale.
Rapidly prototype and experiment with new feature concepts based on direct customer feedback and real use cases.
Continuously evolve the product based on what you learn from customer interactions and usage patterns.
2. AI-Powered Development & Integration
Champion AI-assisted development as a core part of how we build: evolve our processes, tooling and workflows around modern AI coding tools.
Continuously evaluate and integrate new AI development tools and techniques to accelerate the team's velocity.
Own the integration of AI capabilities into the product, including working with LLM APIs, designing structured tool interfaces (like MCP or CLI) and building features that leverage AI to deliver customer value.
Collaborate with the team to define and refine our AI development stack as the landscape evolves.
3. Architecture, Infrastructure & Operations
Make broad technical decisions across the stack - from UI framework choices to backend architecture to cloud infrastructure.
Maintain and extend our cloud foundation, CI/CD pipelines and containerization strategy (Docker), using managed/PaaS services pragmatically to keep operational overhead low.
Own infrastructure and compliance topics as they arise: you don't need to be a deep specialist, but you’ll need to understand the value of security, compliance and operational reliability and be willing to jump on these when business needs arise.
Coordinate with external DevOps consultants, compliance auditors and security experts when deep specialization is required.
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging and alerting to keep the product healthy in production.
What you bring
Behavioral and Cultural Skills
Ownership and Autonomy: Before all other traits, we are looking for the proven ability to take complete ownership of a product or project, to work autonomously and to take strategic decisions comfortably.
Problem Solving: Finding solutions to unknown problems by learning new technologies and activating the right internal or external experts.
Exceptional Communication: Articulating complex technical decisions and tradeoffs to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Startup Mindset: Highly proactive, comfortable with ambiguity and driven by a mission to build a business up from scratch.
Technical Qualifications
We are looking for technical generalist that ideally brings a broad range of technical skills:
Experience & Seniority: 8+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in Software Engineering, with at least 3+ years operating at a Senior/Staff/Principal level.
Full-Stack Mastery: Strong proficiency across both frontend and backend. Deep experience with React and TypeScript on the frontend and Python on the backend.
Product & Feature Focus: A track record of shipping user-facing features end-to-end in a B2B SaaS environment, ideally including direct exposure to customer feedback loops and rapid iteration cycles.
AI-Native Workflow: Proven ability to accelerate development using AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot or Claude Code) and a track record of pushing the boundaries of what's possible with AI-assisted development.
Cloud & DevOps Familiarity: Working knowledge of a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) and experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines. You don't need to be a DevOps specialist, but you should be comfortable owning infrastructure decisions and managing deployments.
Data Architecture: Solid experience with SQL and NoSQL databases. Familiarity with data modeling for SaaS applications.
AI Integration: Experience or strong interest in integrating AI/LLM capabilities into products (API integration, prompt engineering, structured tool interfaces).
Compliance Awareness: An understanding of why standards like ISO and SOC 2 matter for B2B SaaS and the willingness to engage with these topics when needed.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We believe great teams are built by resourceful builders who bring a broad range of skills and unique perspectives. If you are excited about this role and our mission but your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification listed, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway. Your enthusiasm and demonstrated capacity for ownership, learning and impact are just as important to us.
